We left lunch and he asked "so, you have 1 son?" I replied no I actually have 3. He gasped so loud I wanted to punch him in the throat lol! My mamma bear came out and I couldn't wait to get out of his car! He CLEARLY was not good enough for my boys haha. I now see yes, I was a young mom and being divorced with 3 boys in my later twenties was not the norm. Eventually I forgave him hehe...Of course after his repeated invitations to get to know me. I was stubborn in my twenties :) I finally gave in. As time passed I began to see his wonderfully qualities. After 6 months of dating I decided to introduced him to my boys. He was fixing their bikes, the one thing as a single mom I couldn't figure out how to do. Boy did it feel nice to have a man do something for you. I forgot how that felt. As time went on I saw him coming around to be with my boys. Skateboarding, skate shops, grip tape and tons of half pipes and beanies. I knew things were getting serious seeing the bond between him and the boys. I was so worried knowing he wanted more kids would there be a different love he would feel for his biological kid? My worry was for my kids. Would my boys feel different, not enough or not loved 100%. Well, after we took a trip to meet my in laws I knew their would be no difference. These wonderful people knew how to love and pull you right in. It's amazing how God can put two people who are complete opposites, not looking for love or a relationship and align their paths to meet, and create a family who knows deeply family is people who care, love and support each other. Blood has nothing to do with it. God knew I needed a man and family who would love my sweet boys as their own. Any other way I would still be single today. I felt very strongly about having no difference in my home. I'm so thankful I went to that first lunch and listen to the nudge I felt to get to know Daniel. We have added 2 sweet kids to our family and we are now 7. My Daniel looks like friends with our older 2 boys and people say Mateo looks like his dad lol but who cares! To all our kids he is DAD. We have a big family with 2 Dads, 1 Mom and 6 grandparents and many uncle's and aunts and I wouldn't have it any other way. It's just more people to love!
